You will execute product development tasks using your technical expertise, working independently as a member of an R&D team. You will be mainly accountable for:Documenting work and contributing to written reportsKeeping up to date with strategic plans and performing activities in line with the current directionContributing your own creative ideas to R&D projects and proposing follow-up activities based on project resultsGathering information about ABB products and technologies and developing an understanding of technical drivers and customer valueProviding consulting services to business operations and customersParticipating in working teams and offering assistance to co-workers, as well as consulting team members and colleagues to gain information and knowledgeRecognizing the importance of intellectual property in industry and the advantage of ABB's patents relevant to your own area of research, as well as grasping risk management in R&D projectsQualifications for the roleMaster’s degree qualification in technical fields preferably electrical or mechanicalUp to 5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably as a designer or engineer with mechanical and electromechanical productsSound knowledge of electricity and its effects (thermal, dielectric, mechanical stresses), mechanical/material engineering, and the electrical and/or mechanical marketKnowledge of 2D CAD and 3D CAD systems (preferably SolidWorks).
