Together with our partners and participants, we cultivate communities where people are progressively seen, accepted, challenged, and supported.GENERAL SUMMARYThe Maintenance Technician will report to the Facilities Manager and will be working at various St. Matthew’s House properties. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of all SMH properties. St. Matthew’s House is a faith-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization that exists to transform lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined.ESSENTIAL TASKSHelp with regular administration of the indoor and/or outdoor property maintenance including, but not limited to completing tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager, daily reporting, completing scheduled maintenance, addressing issues in a timely manner administering AC, plumbing, fire suppression and other internal systems.Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all facility equipment as directed.Always work in a safe manner following all established safety rules and regulations.Follow all established Maintenance practices in regards to SAP, Preventative Maintenance Paperwork, Parts Usage and Ordering.Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.Plan and schedule repairs.Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.Help develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalent qualification.Licensed in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction management, or related field.Five years of related experience including two years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.Maintains current knowledge in the field of facilities management/maintenance; implements and updates facility compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations; follows all safety precautions, standards, policies and procedures.Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.Effective problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.Confidentiality: Works with confidential information.Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for a minimum of 4 hours at a time and lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to bend or kneel to the ground for extended periods of time.Working Areas: Outdoor, sometimes hot environment.Additional Requirements: Must have valid FL driver’s license and transportation. Must be able to operate various pieces of equipment.
