By embracing diversity, we believe science can achieve its fullest potential.THE ROLEYou will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.The Artificial Mechanical and Intelligence Research line is coordinated by Dr. Daniele Pucci. You will contribute to the joint laboratory between IIT and Camozzi. Camozzi Automation is a global leader in designing and producing motion and fluid control components, systems, and technologies for Industrial automation, transportation, and life science industries. The IIT-Camozzi joint laboratory conducts research and development in robotics and control applied to smart grippers and actuators.Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:To design control algorithms for enabling autonomous grasping with the grippers by resorting to cutting-edge AI tools for the embedded domain.To address grasping scenarios of increasing complexity (e.g., with and without clutter, bin picking vs. affordance-based grasping).To deploy production code on the embedded control boards with model-based techniques.To design and execute experiments for the validation of algorithms and models.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, control engineering or related fieldsBasic knowledge of machine-learning and control methodologiesStrong focus on stakeholder needs and expectationsGood command of spoken and written EnglishADDITIONAL SKILLSExperience with robot middleware systems such as ROS, ROS2, OPC UA, or YARPBasic knowledge of electronics, mechanical engineering, and controlBasic knowledge of mathematics, physics, and robotics foundationsExperience with programming languages such as C/C++, PythonExperience with embedded software developmentExperience with simulation toolsAbility to work in a challenging and international environmentCapacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environmentAnalytical reasoning skills and a growth mindsetCOMPENSATION PACKAGECompetitive salary package for international standards (Salary can include bonus option depending on your role and contract).Private health care coverage depending on your role and contractTwo days of teleworking per week and flexible working hours are available for certain rolesCandidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.Please submit your application using the online form and including a detailed CV.
