Join to apply for the Assistant Professor in Macroeconomics role at European University Institute
The Department of Economics at the European University Institute (EUI) invites applications for a Full-time Assistant Professorship in Macroeconomics and related applied fields.

Candidates should have a very promising research profile. This means either of the following:
If a candidate is set to complete the PhD in 2025, we expect them to have an excellent academic job market paper and at least one additional academic paper. This work should have the potential for publication in top field or general interest academic journals.
If a candidate has completed their PhD some time ago, we expect a profile with a number of academic papers at a more advanced stage in the publication process (i.e., submitted to academic journals or in revise and resubmit), commensurate with the academic age of the candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to provide major input in research, teaching, and administration, as follows:
Research:
To develop and lead research in the fields mentioned in the profile;
To promote the integration of his/her research with other research interests within the Department of Economics as well as interdisciplinary research with the other Departments and Centres of the EUI; candidates are invited to take into consideration the research priorities and existing research projects of the Department of Economics (eui.eu);
To maintain a high national and international profile of publications in internationally recognised journals;
To acquire research funding on an individual basis and in collaboration with others.
Teaching and supervision:
To teach effectively postgraduate students both in introductory and research seminars;
To attract research students to the EUI and provide co-supervision.
Administration:
To make a significant contribution to the promotion of the EUI, and to contribute to the transition of EUI alumni into professional and academic careers;
To make the best use of his/her research budget and try to supplement it with outside funding;
To contribute fully to the general life of the Department and the Institute;
To contribute to the promotion of cultural diversity in the Department and the EUI

List of publications
Research project: The research project should correspond to the profile. It should specify the objectives and scope of the project and give indications on the background, especially how it relates to work you have already undertaken and published. The project should preferably be written in English, and have a length of up to 2000 words.
